Ernest van Dyck(1861-1923), Beglian dramatic tenor, he studied both law and journalism before deciding to became an opera singer. He studied in Paris, he made his debut in Paris in 1887, then sang in London, Vienna and Bayreuth. He made his American debut in 1898 at Metropolitan Opera. He stayed in New York until the 1901-02 season. In 1907 he managed a season of German opera at Covent Garden.
